Republican Party Top Priority video highlights their allegiance to party over people

Sabotage: The Story Behind The Republican Party’s “Top Political Priority” Ok let me preface the video first by saying that I am fully aware that anyone can edit footage or twist words to make them say or how what they want. My interest is not about propaganda or the silly spy vs spy game the two parties perpetually participate in. This video posted to YouTube, “Sabotage: The Story Behind The Republican Party’s “Top Political Priority””, caught my attention because it layed out what the Republican mindset has been during these recent times. If we can be honest and look at...

Jay Smooth on Occupy Wall Street and co-opting the movement

If you’ve never been aware of Jay Smooth and his IllDoctrine observations, analysis and insights you have missed out. His take on situations are almost always on point. This time is no different. Jay speaks on Occupy Wall Street and how some people aren’t “getting it”. Of this I can relate as in these previous weeks I’ve had to try to speak to the same extent to others in response to “What is this Occupy Wall Street thing about?” Jay is right that if you don’t get it then it’s probably not meant for you to get. Too Much Doubt Over Troy Davis Yet Clemency Denied

Troy Davis has been in jail since 1991 for the shooting death of police officer Mark MacPhail. He’s set to be executed tomorrow. However, the US justice system has to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt or reasonable doubt to keep you locked up and take away your life. Apparently there is beyond a reasonable doubt in Troy Davis’ case however he’s still set to die tomorrow September 21, 2011 at 7pm. Cops don’t like when you shoot people. Cops REALLY don’t like when you shoot other Cops. However, it seems that in this case there is a lot...

NJ taxpayers Covering “Jersey Shore” $420,000 Tax Bill

New Jersey’s Economic Development Authority approved a $420,000 tax credit for the production costs of the first season of MTV’s reality show “Jersey Shore”. The governor, Chris Christie, isn’t a fan of the show and supposedly said there is nothing he can do about the EDA’s decision. The governor had supposedly closed this tax loophole already to cover a budget deficit. I have to agree with the Governor Christie on this one. The mayor in the town where the show was filmed  is all for the credit saying their presence is a boon to local business. With each of the core...

Faith Leaders Among Those Banned From 9/11 10 Year Anniversary Memorial Ceremony

When NYC Mayor Bloomberg throws a party the guest list is more exclusive than a White House affair apparently. Bloomberg is very adamant about the 10 year Anniversary of the September 11 tragedy Memorial Ceremony be strictly about those that died and the families who lost loved one’s that day. As such, survivors of 9/11 are not invited, first responders are not invited and also apparently clergy have been banned from the event. Expectedly, the church isn’t to happy about this. Bloomberg’s barring participation by faith leaders in the city’s 10th anniversary service has sparked protests from a variety of...
