Greenpeace Attacks Volkswagen In Star Wars Themed Commercial
Europe is trying to cut CO2 emissions from a target rate of a 20% to 30% reduction. VW is trying to fight this. Isn’t that a wonderful display of humanitarian responsibility and care for something other than your bottom line. Thank you for being scummy in the face of things like Global Warming, Climate Change, rampant pollution and an asthma epidemic. This, of course, is par for the course with big business.
Greenpeace has created a campaign to alert people to VW’s treachery against the republic complete with cute Jedi’s, adorable Star Wars universe citizens and a miniature Darth Vader.
To be fair there are businesses as well as the UK government that back the increase to 30%. The thing is, we all need to make these decisions for the benefit of the future. Company bottom lines shouldn’t come into play when the future is at stake. If that means that we have to find alternate ways of doing what we normally do then so be it. It’s called being mature.
