If we don’t change our minds about how this country works then we’re not going to have a country anymore. People say, “oh you don’t like america get out.” Why? Why would I get out and leave it in your hands? You fucked it up so much already. – Immortal Technique
Technique has many solid points here. The people have a hard time getting together because difference separate them. Divide and conquer works even passively. On the other side, politics and money makes strange bedfellows. The common goal needs to be recognized and acted upon to be effective.
He also points out the catch in the conveniences of modern life. We have lost the ability to be truly independent and self reliant. Yes unemployment is high and people need jobs in order to survive in this system. In the creation of our society we have cut ourselves off from the nature given rights of survival in exchange for convenience. Food and water is free essentially. However, we don’t have the capacity to plant a seed and reap the harvest as the land to do so is either locked up in private ownership or, as in the case of cities, covered in concrete. We are so far removed from that survival skill set at this point that even if most were given land and seeds we’d not know what to do with them So we are dependent on this system to live. Which puts us dependent on this system operating in a fair and balanced manner to ensure our continued existence. Resources are drying up. Business as usual now only serves a short term view point and amasses a larger stockpile of crisis for the future.
Balance is essential, it is the rule otherwise things fall over. Everything must seek it in order to survive. Nature will as well.
