Newt Gingrich Tells Occupiers To Get A Job After Taking A Bath
Newt Gingrich seems to think being clever or funny while over looking the inequalities, corruption and predatory aspects of the system is being a good leader. I will concede that Newt’s statement was a pretty impressive display of assholery. I do reject though that the Occupy Wall Street protests and protestors feel entitled to a free ride.
“All the occupy movements starts with a

Not only is Newt’s assessment purposefully ignorant of the reality the 99% face in this country at the hands of those he seeks to protect or ally with but it’s shows where his ultimate allegiance lies. Clearly it’s with business and profits over the nation. He’s seems to believe that those interests are more important. Apparently when those interests take advantage of the people to the detriment of the foundation of the nation it’s just the way things are supposed to be. But, when the people have enough of the abuse and stand up against such tyranny they just want a free ride.
Palpatine Gingrich just doesn’t get it and neither does the grinning George Washington Duke parody sitting next to him. Or maybe they do but don’t care. By and large, Occupy Wall Street isn’t anti success or anti capitalism as a whole. I don’t think you’ll find many people occupying these parks and participating in these marches across the nation that are against people benefiting from the fruits of their labor. I don’t believe it’s a movement that is particularly against the rich or people attaining a status of wealthy. On the contrary, success is part of the American dream. It’s the dream that anyone can achieve a good life for themselves and their family. The problem is when that success, or that dream, comes by purposefully infringing or preying on the lives and futures of others. When profits, the interests of the wealthy and constant economic growth are held as a primary goal while the people are treated as mere pawns in the attainment of that goal there is a problem. When the people at the mercy of such interests are told to just ignore their bleak future while being robbed and brutally raped, it’s a problem. The person who has the audacity to tell those people “to get a job after taking a bath” while looking down his nose at them and smiling with a smug sense of self satisfaction after decades of benefiting from degrading their lives is the one who is dirty enough to need a wash.
Wanting to be treated fair is not entitlement.
