Documentary filmmaker and activist Michael Moore made a visit to the Occupy Wall Street protest site in New York City. Moore gave a 10 minute long speech to the crowd encouraging their efforts. Last night at abotu 2 am EST, Hip Hop Emcee and activist Immortal Technique entered the Occupy Wall Street territory. He spoke to members of the protest about the need for change, the barriers to organization, true democracy and independence. Immortal Technique has long been active in speaking out on sociopolitical issues through his music and actions. In 2008 he took part in helping to fund and build an orphanage in Afghanistan. NYPD’s Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna has been identified on Twitter as the police officer that pepper sprayed female protesters being held behind a police corral that was filmed and uploaded to YouTube.
